60-Second Meet the Team: Paul
Here we go: Paul's 60-Second Quick Fire Questions
Q) What's your role at Challenge Central?
A) I have a number of roles - Support Crew, Trekking and Cycling Guide, Sports Massage Therapist.
Q) How long have you been working/helping CC for?
A) I only started in August 2016 however it took me only a few minutes to realise it is the greatest job in the world!!
Q) What's been your favouritre challenge event to date?
A) Hard to say; I love them all!! Cycling in Paris is always an amazing and emotional feeling, but then again, watching a perfect sunrise from the top of Scafell Pike at 5am is hard to beat too!
Q) What's your favourite thing about being CC's Support Crew, Trekking and Cycling Guide, Sports Massage Therapist?
A) I love meeting new people on every trip and seeing how people who started as strangers finish as great friends only a couple of days later. Seeing how some clients battle with fears, worries or lack of confidence to conquer their challenge is a great reminder of the wonderful human spirit and how we are all much stronger mentally and physically than we might think.
Q) If you were stranded on an island, what 5 things would you want to have with you?
A) 1) Spotify (I cannot live without music) 2) A copy of "To a Mountain in Tibet" by Colin Thubron (a beautifully written travel book which I can read over and over again for its magical, descriptive passages) 3) My Pinarello bike (if that is allowed??) 4) A photo of my lovely family 5) A case of Guiness??!!
Q) Tell us an interesting fact
A) At the age of 45, my wife and I packed in our jobs, packed our bags and back - packed around the world for a year; proving that only the important things in life are happiness and time!
Q) What is your one piece of advice to any challenger signed up to a CC event already or someone thinking of taking part?
A) Do it!!! I've yet to come across a Challenge Central participant who hasn't 100% loved their event and benefitted from it! Train well, have the right kit, be prepared and it will be one of the greatest things you have ever done.
