Push your cycling limits with our 2, 3 or 5-day cycle; London - Cardiff - Dublin.

New for 2018 - the challenge is split into 3 itineraries and you can choose to complete:

London to Cardiff (2 Days) 163 miles (4492ft)

Cardiff to Dublin (3 Days) 212 miles (9151ft)

London to Dublin (5 Days) 375 miles (13643ft)

The full London to Dublin challenge is certainly one of our more challenging cycle rides and therefore suitable for the more experienced cyclist; a perfect step up from our London to Paris Cycle or similar weekend challenge.

The cycle challenge takes us through some marvelous countryside (and hills) in the countries we visit.

Whether you decide to do the 5 days or one of the shorter itineraries, you are fully supported throughout your event by the Challenge Central team. Our cycling guides will lead you along the route and our support vehicle is never far away, carrying your personal belongings all the way to your finish point.

If you choose to complete the London - Dublin route, you will have the option to upgrade and have your bikes and belongings transported back to the England following the challenge – leaving you free to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city at your own pace.

The price of the challenge includes the ferry to Ireland (as part of the Cardiff-Dublin or London-Cardiff-Dublin event) but does not include accommodation at your finish point or your return to the UK.

There are no charity commitments so you are free to raise money for any charity of your choice, or simply take on the London - Cardiff - Dublin for a personal challenge without a minimum fundraising obligation.

We take customer service very seriously but don’t take our word for it, see our feedback page with testimonials from previous challengers who have enjoyed our cycling tours.

Day 1 – Richmond to Swindon - 84 miles (2613ft)

Starting in Richmond Park in West London, we head out of the UK’s lively capital city via Windsor Castle on to Twyford for the first refuel stop.

The further west we go, the quieter the roads and more impressive the scenery becomes. Gorey Hill and the ride into Wantage are two of the standout highlights of the day’s cycling as we deduct a solid 84 miles from the challenge.

Day 2 – Swindon to Cardiff  - 79 miles (1879ft)

Our first point of call is a mini break in Malmesbury as it’s too pretty to miss before pushing further on to the town of Thornbury at 40 miles, where we break for lunch.

After lunch, we have the excitement of crossing the Severn Bridge and arriving in Wales, the home of the mountains! However, the climbing doesn’t start until tomorrow as we remain at sea level for the rest of the day; passing through Newport and into the capital city of Wales, Cardiff.

Day 3 – Cardiff to Carmarthen - 74 miles (3255ft)

Here the fun really begins as we head further away from the civilization of cities and into the welsh valleys for a few ups and downs.

Each climb is met with a fantastic downhill on smooth, fast and quite roads which is on par with some of the best cycling sections of all our challenges.

Probably the hardest day on paper but a fantastic feeling in the bar in Carmarthen at the end of challenging but satisfying day’s work.

Day 4 – Carmarthen to Wexford - 50 miles (3479ft)

Now for the highlight of the trip - Day 4 aka The Mountain Day. The day with the most feet of climbing is squeezed into the shortest distance of cycling, with the majority falling into the fist 37 miles from Carmarthen to Fishguard.

The route is up and down but no spirits will be broken as we continue west through the empty, mountainous countryside of south Wales. The most enjoyable section of the day and likely the trip is the 8-mile descent into Fishguard where will catch the ferry at 13:30.

We will take lunch during the 3hr ferry crossing to Rosslare where we arrive into the third country of the challenge, Ireland.

Just 13 miles to round off a thrilling day and enjoy our first sample the world-famous Guinness in Wexford.

Day 5 – Wexford to Dublin - 88 miles (2417ft)

The final push in upon us and there is no stopping us now! We are cycling due north up the coast passing through coastal towns of Court Town, Arklow and Wicklow.

With the sea on the right and mountains on the left, the lovely views help the tired legs drive onwards and upwards until we reach our final destination of the challenge, the capital of Ireland - Dublin.
