Magpas Air Ambulance London to Paris Cycle

MagpasCycle from one of London’s best known landmarks to the most romantic city in the world, Paris. This 190-mile bike ride adventure can be achieved in only three days, travelling through some of the most beautiful French countryside on smooth-as-silk roads.

With the summer weather and the camaraderie from other cyclists, this challenge really is a dream cycle ride into continental Europe.

The London to Paris Cycle Tour will put you to the test with three days of consecutive cycling with a handful of challenging hill-climbs – which makes that first sight of the Eiffel Tower even more rewarding.

The London to Paris Cycle Ride is supported by the Challenge Central team along the way. Our support vehicle is never far away, carrying your personal belongings all the way to Paris.

You also have the option to have your bikes and belongings transported back to the UK following the challenge – leaving you free to enjoy the sights and sounds of this magnificent city at your own pace.

Please note that the price of the challenge includes the overnight ferry on day one, accommodation in Beauvais on day two and food on both evenings but does not include accommodation in Paris or the return back to the UK.

We take customer service very seriously but don’t take our word for it, see our London to Paris Cycle Feedback from previous challengers.

Magpas Air Ambulance London to Paris Cycle

Magpas Air Ambulance gives the very best pre-hospital emergency care, in the air or on land, including treatments usually only available in a hospital. Operating 24/7, the charity answers four calls for help a day on average, treating around 900 patients in life-threatening emergencies every year.

Magpas Air Ambulance serves the communities of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and across the East of England and are dispatched by both the East of England and the East Midlands Ambulance Service Trusts - caring for a population of over 10 million.

The charity was formed in 1971 by two doctors. Their idea was to quickly bring doctors to the scene of serious road traffic collisions to improve patients’ chances of survival and reduce the impact of their injuries – an idea which remains at the heart of the service today.

Now, the Magpas advanced medical team combines the skills of a senior doctor and critical care paramedic on every shift. All members of the team are specially trained in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM), and support the ambulance service by bringing advanced medical care directly to their patients’ side when time is of the essence.

Magpas Air Ambulance relies on generous public donations to continue saving lives.

Day 1 - London to Newhaven – 65 Miles

The cycling challenge begins at Carlton House Terrace, London (SW1Y 5AH) at 09:00. Here you will meet the Challenge Central team and of course your fellow cyclists! We will travel a short distance on foot to our starting point in Trafalgar Square, where we will depart at approximately 10:00.

We will head out of the capital towards Brighton, travelling through picturesque Sussex countryside – often described as the Garden of England due to its wealth of horticulture and beautiful woodland. Wherever possible we have opted to use quieter roads for our bike rides so you can expect to cycle through some wonderful countryside, as we meander our way south to the coast.

From Brighton, our cycle ride takes us east along the coastline towards Newhaven, with stunning sea views and flanked by the famous white cliffs. In the evening we will take you to Newhaven’s favourite pub situated across from the port, where you can rest your legs, enjoy a hearty meal and freshen-up before boarding the ferry.

Day 2 – Dieppe to Beauvais – 75 miles

Arriving early hours in Dieppe, we will begin the next part of the bike ride around 05:00. We head along the gently inclined Avenue Verte cycle track in the morning twilight towards Forges-les-Eaux, arriving just in time for a well-earned breakfast at a choice of enchanting local cafés.

From here we continue the cycle ride on fantastically smooth roads passing through several quaint French towns and villages, until we reach our destination in the early afternoon - Beauvais

With day two of the cycle tour complete,  the rest of the day is free to relax before the final push to Paris in the morning after some much-needed rest in our accommodation for the night.

Day 3 - Beauvais to Paris – 50 miles

The last day of the London to Paris bike ride finds us cycling right into the heart of Paris. For our hard efforts over the past three days, we are rewarded with simply gorgeous views of the Champs Élysées with the Arc de Triomphe standing proudly in the distance. As we approach France’s most famous landmark, the Eiffel Tower, we will cycle past the beautiful Victor Hugo fountain through to the Trocadero. Here we will finish the cycle ride, presenting the perfect opportunity to capture photos with the Eiffel Tower displaying in the background.

With our bike ride coming to an end in the early afternoon, you can celebrate your cross-channel triumph in one of the many renowned Parisian bars and restaurants.

You have the option of your bike being transported back to Hertfordshire for collection during the week, allowing you the freedom to explore the beautiful capital city.
