Day 1: London - Harwich – 82 miles
The adventure begins in the heart of London at Carlton House Terrace, where participants will meet the Challenge Central team and fellow cyclists. After a short ride to Trafalgar Square, the official departure takes place at 9:00, with the route heading east towards the coast.
Leaving the city behind, the journey passes through the scenic Essex countryside, where the roads are mostly smooth but include some undulating sections to keep things interesting. Picturesque villages and open landscapes provide a stunning backdrop as the ride progresses towards the port of Harwich. Regular refreshment stops are scheduled to help maintain energy levels throughout the day.
Upon arrival in Harwich, cyclists board an overnight ferry to the Netherlands. The ferry provides a comfortable and relaxing experience, with restaurants, bars, a cinema, and free WiFi. En-suite cabins with bedding, towels, and showers ensure a restful night before the ride continues the following morning. Boarding takes place at 19:00, with departure scheduled for 23:00, allowing for a well-earned break before the longest day of the challenge.
Day 2: Hook of Holland - Eindhoven - 89 miles
After arriving at the Hook of Holland at approximately 8:00 local time, there is a chance to enjoy breakfast before setting off at 9:00. The Dutch section of the journey is a dream for cyclists, with impeccably maintained cycle paths and a welcoming atmosphere for riders. The route heads south of Rotterdam, passing alongside canals and over multiple waterways.
As the journey progresses, the ride will take us slightly south of Rotterdam, crossing a network of waterways and passing through historic Dutch towns before reaching Eindhoven for a well-earned rest.
Eindhoven is known for its lively atmosphere and welcoming hospitality, making it the perfect place to recover before the final day.
Day 3: Eindhoven - Cologne - 89 miles
An early start at 7:00 sets the tone for the final push towards Cologne. The route crosses the border into Germany, taking cyclists through a mix of countryside roads and urban cycle paths as they approach their final destination. The excitement builds as Cologne’s skyline comes into view, with the iconic cathedral marking the end of this incredible journey.

The sense of achievement is immense, and there is plenty of time to celebrate and reflect on the adventure in one of Germany’s most vibrant cities.
